Collaborating with 42nd Street – Creating Self-Care Activity Booklets for Young People in Manchester
About the project
As someone who is passionate about mental health and the benefits of creative expression, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with 42nd Street, a mental health charity based in Manchester, and their young people arts group. I worked with the team at 42nd Street to create over a thousand self-care activity booklets, illustrations, and art kits for young people all over Manchester.
The self-care activity booklets were designed to provide young people with a range of activities that they could do to support their mental health and wellbeing. The activities included things like mindful walks, mood tracking and breathing exercises, as well as tips and tricks for managing stress and anxiety. The booklets were designed to be interactive and engaging, with plenty of space for young people to write and draw their thoughts and feelings.
In addition to the self-care activity booklets, I also created a range of illustrations and art kits for the young people at 42nd Street. The illustrations were designed to be bright, colourful, and uplifting, with a focus on themes like self-care, positivity, and resilience. The art kits included a illustrated sticker sheet, colouring page, bookmark & a button badge.
Overall, collaborating with 42nd Street was an incredibly rewarding experience, and I feel honoured to have been able to contribute to the important work that they do. I hope that the self-care activity booklets, illustrations, and art kits that we created will continue to support and inspire young people all over Manchester, and that they will serve as a reminder that creative expression can be a powerful tool for promoting mental health and wellbeing.
