Connecting Through Art: Reflections on Facilitating Outreach Workshops for ‘Days of Note’ with Cartwheel Arts
About the project
As a Project Worker for Cartwheel Arts, I was excited to collaborate with numerous community groups in Rochdale through the "Days Of Note" project. This project gave us the opportunity to connect with the local community and deliver ten outreach workshops centred around the theme of celebration and awareness days.
Each outreach workshop was unique and tailored to the specific community group we were working with. We explored various art techniques and materials to create a range of different pieces inspired by the theme of celebration and awareness days. It was great to see people of all ages getting involved and creating something together.
Alongside each outreach workshop, I created make-along art videos that went out on our social media channels. These videos were designed to give people who were unable to attend the workshop a chance to participate and create something at home. It was great to see so many people engaging with the videos, and collectively they have received over 1500 views.
Overall, the “Days Of Note” project was a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with the local community and use art as a tool to bring people together. It was a great reminder of the power of art and creativity to promote connection. seo friendly blog title for above
